It Runs Fine studio aesthetic — warm gold light over a medieval vista Melbourne, Australia

About It Runs Fine

We’re a Melbourne-based indie studio crafting stylized, systems-driven games with heart. Our focus is on building worlds that feel alive — where every system connects, every character has purpose, and every challenge pushes you to adapt.

With a small, tight-knit team, we embrace bold ideas and deliberate design, combining visual style with mechanical depth to create experiences that reward curiosity and replay. Our games are made for players who crave immersion, meaningful choice, and stories that linger long after the credits fade.

Studio Story

Founded in June 2025 as a solo venture, It Runs Fine began as a personal challenge — to take an idea from concept to a polished, release-ready game. Red Harvest, the studio’s debut title, is both a commercial project and a heartfelt homage to a close friend who passed away. The two core developers first met over a decade ago while studying game development, later reconnecting in 2024 while working together at an enthusiast PC building company in Melbourne. In August 2025, Bacon joined the project, bringing his skills and creativity to help shape Red Harvest into the immersive, stylized survival experience it’s set out to be.

Our Approach

We favor clear art direction, strong silhouettes, and lighting that does storytelling work. Under the hood: efficiency-minded AI, modular systems, and tools that help us ship faster without sacrificing feel.

  • Stylized visuals: painterly materials, readable shapes, realistic lighting.
  • Systems first: AI behavior, survival loops, and community dynamics that interact in surprising ways.
  • Player agency: meaningful tradeoffs, risk-reward, and consequential choices.

Behind the Name

“It Runs Fine” is a wink at every late-night build that barely holds together — and a promise that the next one will be better. We iterate, polish, and keep pushing.
